Message received Sunday morning, from a Yomper forced to withdraw due to injury: Morning, I wish I was still out there on the Downs with you guys. I wish I was a few years younger. I wish I lived in a bungalow and didn’t have stairs to deal with. I wish I didn’t have to sit down at the moment with a kilt rubbed butt crack! I wish all the best to the Yompers still out there and those who are in my position this morning. One thing I couldn’t wish for is a better event support team. You have a great crew who did an excellent job encouraging and caring for us Yompers. Please pass on my thanks to all of them. Catch you for a beer sometime soon I hope.
